Curriculum Overview 2018-19

The New National Curriculum has given us exciting opportunities to develop our provision across all subjects. The first year 2014-15 saw the school trialling new topics. This has led us to reviewing both our resources and all of our subject policies. In September 2015 a few amendments were made and extensive resource introduction and replacement took place. This was most true in Mathematics, Geography and History.

Information about the school's curriculum in each of the four years, the policies and schemes of work and additional curriculum information (including extra curricular activities and whole curriculum) can be found on the website in the following links;

  • See link below to monthly newsletters which show the range of active learning opportunities across the curriculum both in and out of school time.
  • See link below into PHSE and Citizenship (Developing Young Citizens of Conscience) to see and appreciate our dedication to promote preparedness for life in Modern Britain and Celebrating British Values.
  • See link below into Reading and Spelling (English folder). All children have access to a ability graded reading scheme produced by Collins: Big Cats. Recently we have purchased Wordsmith which is used across the school covering spelling and grammar through texts.
  • See link below for Science topics showing the breadth and balance of Science coverage in each year group.

We plan for consistent timetabling of the curriculum to ensure that all areas are covered and that each class has weekly opportunities to reflect upon our ethos.
