Parent/child workshops - helping you to help your child:
We welcome families in to school to share in the learning of their children. We hold parent workshops several times a year in the hall. Parents and children work together on a curriculum focus. We aim to encourage as many parents as possible to attend. We try to give plenty of notice and we are usually able to cater for younger siblings to come along too.
Here are some comments from parents who have attended previous workshops:
"I have really enjoyed today's workshop. It creates a bond between child and parent."
"Thank you for involving parents in the challenge. It gave me an idea how to use simple resources to make things which are enjoyed both by parents and children."
In Autumn 2012 the school achieved the Leading Parent Partnership Award. This award is given to schools that develop a strong partnership between school and home. We are proud of our partnership with families.
Parents were asked to provide feedback about the things we do. They were invited to share in children’s learning. ‘Parent friendly’ information about what is going on in school was provided such as the topic leaflets.
