Understanding our results
We are pleased with the improvement shown in these early results. The proportion of pupils achieving the expected standard in reading, writing and maths combined was above the current national figure. Outcomes in writing, maths and grammar, punctuation and spelling were also above the current national figures.
The results also show where further work is needed. Increasing the number of pupils achieving the higher standard, particularly in writing and across reading, writing and maths combined, remains an important priority.
We are proud of the progress our pupils have made while remaining clear and ambitious about the work still to do.
