Our history curriculum helps children understand how the past has shaped the world around them. Through carefully sequenced units, pupils explore different periods, people and places, including important local history linked to Leicester. Children learn to think like historians by asking questions, using evidence, comparing viewpoints and explaining how life has changed over time. We prioritise meaningful vocabulary and discussion so that every child can use their voice to share ideas and develop a secure understanding of the past.
